> AMD's filed Q2 2026: revenue $11.5B with Data Center up 107% to $6.7B, GAAP EPS $1.38, and a Q3 guide of ~$13B — roughly 41% growth. Gaming fell 31% the same quarter the AI segment doubled. The filed numbers behind the after-hours noise.

*Figures trace to AMD's Q2 2026 results release, filed August 4, 2026 as
Exhibit 99.1 to Form 8-K (accession `0000002488-26-000121`), with
prior-quarter baselines from the May 5 release (accession
`0000002488-26-000072`). Management quotes from the August 4 earnings
call. Research, not investment advice.*

[AMD](https://evidinvest.com/valuation/AMD) (**[$AMD](https://evidinvest.com/valuation/AMD)**) filed its second-quarter
results after Tuesday's close, and the headline number is the segment line,
not the total. Data Center revenue was **$6.7 billion, up 107%
year-over-year** — the segment more than doubled while the rest of the
company grew single digits. Total revenue came in at **$11.5 billion** with
GAAP gross margin of 54%, operating income of $2.0 billion, net income of
$2.3 billion and diluted EPS of **$1.38** ($1.66 non-GAAP, 56% non-GAAP
gross margin).

For scale: one quarter ago, Data Center was $5.8 billion and 57% growth
looked like the peak of the ramp (May 5 release, accession
`0000002488-26-000072`). Instead the growth rate nearly doubled. On the
earnings call, Lisa Su said data center now represents 58% of total
revenue, up from 42% a year ago — AMD is now majority an AI-infrastructure
company by revenue, a mix shift that took four quarters.

## Where the growth is coming from

The filed release credits EPYC processors and Instinct GPUs, and the
highlights section names the buyers: the newly launched Helios rackscale
system is "being deployed by leading AI labs and cloud providers including
Anthropic, Cirrascale, HUMAIN, Meta, Microsoft, OpenAI, Oracle, Tensorwave,
Vultr and others" — that's the filed list, not analyst speculation. The
MI400 Series (MI455X for large-scale training and inference, MI430X for HPC
and sovereign AI) shipped in the quarter.

The rest of the company tells a quieter story. Client revenue grew 23% to
$3.1 billion on Ryzen demand. Gaming fell **31% to $779 million** on lower
semi-custom revenue — the console cycle giveth and taketh away. Embedded
grew 19% to $977 million. Strip out Data Center and AMD grew roughly 6%.

## The guide is the real headline

For Q3 2026, AMD expects revenue of approximately **$13 billion, plus or
minus $300 million** — about 41% year-over-year growth and 13% sequential —
with non-GAAP gross margin around 56%. A $13 billion quarter would be larger
than any two quarters AMD reported before 2025 combined.

The question the market was asking into the print — with the stock
touching $527 intraday before a $518.58 close, our
[AI evaluation](https://evidinvest.com/valuation/AMD) flagged AMD trading at 182.9x trailing
earnings during Tuesday's session, the highest multiple among major
semiconductor peers — is whether the earnings can grow into the price. A doubled segment and a
41% guide is the bull's answer; a 54% gross margin against that multiple is
the bear's counter. Both sides are now arguing from the same filed exhibit.

Check the assumptions yourself: the [DCF for AMD](https://evidinvest.com/valuation/AMD) is
pre-filled from the filings — move the growth and margin sliders and see
what $13 billion quarters have to become to justify the price.
