## Example questions, and what comes back

### What did Apple file as revenue in 1998, and show me the citation.

The annual series back to fiscal 1985, with the 1998 row returned in context. Rows from fiscal 2009 on carry the form, period and accession number of the filing they came from; older rows are EvidInvest’s standardized statements and are labelled as such rather than dressed up as a filing link.

Tools: get_income_statement

### Which customers does Cisco name above 10% of revenue in its latest 10-K? Quote the sentence.

The passage itself, with the form, the period of report, the accession number and the sec.gov URL, so the quote can be opened and checked rather than taken on trust. If no customer crosses the threshold, that is what comes back.

Tools: get_major_customers · search_sec_filings

### What annual free-cash-flow growth is Apple’s share price implying right now?

The reverse DCF: free cash flow, net cash and share count from the latest filed statements, and the Stage 1 growth rate that makes the model equal the current price, alongside the growth the company has actually filed. Inputs and arithmetic, not a recommendation.

Tools: get_reverse_dcf · get_implied_assumptions

## FAQ

### What is the EvidInvest MCP server URL?

https://mcp.evidinvest.com/mcp — a remote Streamable HTTP MCP server. Paste that URL into Claude, ChatGPT or any MCP client; there is nothing to install and nothing to run locally.

### Do I need an API key?

Not in Claude or ChatGPT. The server is an OAuth 2.1 provider, so those clients open a browser window, you sign in to EvidInvest and approve the connection, and the client holds it from then on. Editors and scripts that prefer a static credential can send an API key as a bearer token instead.

### How many tools does it expose?

Fifty-nine, grouped on this page by the job they do: financial statements, growth and history, revenue breakdowns and customers, filing and transcript search, supply chain and risk, valuation including reverse DCF, prices and multiples, thesis monitoring, and lists and portfolio analytics.

### How far back do the financial statements go?

Annual and quarterly statements go back to fiscal 1985 for thousands of US-listed companies, with 30 or more years on file for over 5,000 of them. From fiscal 2009 on, every row carries the form, period and SEC accession number it came from, so a restatement does not silently overwrite history.

### Where do the filing quotes come from?

From the filings themselves on SEC EDGAR — 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K and press-release exhibits, plus earnings-call transcripts. A search result is the passage as filed together with its accession number and its sec.gov URL, so the client can show its source.

### What does it cost?

Free to start, from $10, no subscription. Credits never expire and they cover the website and the server alike.

### Does it work with ChatGPT as well as Claude?

Yes. Claude reads it as a custom connector, ChatGPT as a custom MCP server once developer mode is on, and Cursor, Claude Code and any other Streamable HTTP client read it from an mcpServers config entry.

## Limits worth knowing

- Filing links are on US rows from fiscal 2009, where structured XBRL data begins. Earlier US
rows carry EvidInvest’s standardized figures without a filing link.
- Listings outside the US — over 40,000 on 60+ exchanges — are EvidInvest’s standardized
statements with end-of-day prices. There is no SEC filing behind them and no 1985-deep history.
- Prices are Cboe data delayed at least fifteen minutes. No real-time feed, no tick data, no crypto.
- Options positioning is previous-session only.
- Form 13F institutional ownership is on the website and is not one of the MCP tools.
